FAITH in Action

"A faith without works, a faith that doesn't get you involved, isn't faith. It is words and nothing more than words."

Pope Francis, 21st February 2014

Our Chaplaincy Team

Across school we have many children from different classes who are working hard to build the faith of their peers and our families by spreading The Good News. We are a group of dedicated pupils and within our group different people have different talents and things that they enjoy.

We have a large group of Y3 members at the moment and they are responsible for changing the liturgical colours around school. We also have children from Y4 & 5 who help to put together liturgical bags in each of our seasons that our classes are able to take home and share with their families so that they can pray together and deepen their connection with God.

During collective worship our Chaplaincy Team lead prayers and read intercessions too.

FAITH IN ACTION AWARDS

Faith in Action is a national award scheme for young people between 10 and 16, supported by CYMFed (Catholic Youth Ministry Federation). It is an effective way of making our Bishop's vision for children and young people's faith formation a reality, providing opportunities for our young people to be involved in on-going formation and catechesis.

The scheme has been designed to be accessible, to acknowledge good works and encourage more, and to ensure action is rooted in faith. The introduction of the first 'Pin' level coincides with Confirmation preparation in Year 6 and will become a stepping stone for their continued involvement in the Christian life as they move on to their high school education.

Children in Year 6 will be invited to take part in the award over the year in conjunction with the Parish community and as part of their Confirmation preparation programme.
